Skiing : Skiing has been the favorite activity of the lovers of criss crossing the snow filled mountains. Skiing has always attracted people all over
the world. The long extended slopes of Garhwal and Kumaon covered with seasonal snow becomes an ideal place for skiing in the winters. For
the avid skier, cross-country runs of 15-20 km are now available, with the added advantage of fresh powder snow. Because of their height and
expanse, Garhwal and Kumaon, like other sectors of the Himalayas, are in position to offer the thrills of exploratory long distance skiing
round the year. The main sites for skiing in Uttaranchal are Auli, Dayara Bugyal, Mundali and Munsyari.
River Rafting : River rafting, also known as White water rafting, has also gained immense popularity in Uttaranchal. Since most of the rivers of North India
originate in Uttaranchal and pass through the hilly terrains of Himalayas. The fast speed of running water gives a chance to the water sports
lovers, to explore the natural path of rivers, crossing the jungles and rocky terrains of Himalayas. The Ganga and its tributaries such as
Bhagirathi, Alakananda and Mandakini, offers one of the most popular and adventurous river rafting expeditions in the country.
Jungle Safari : Jungle Safari has been popularised since people started to really enjoy the beauty of the wildlife parks and natural forests. Uttaranchal has
vast covers of forests and jungles across the state. The wildlife sanctuaries of state gives a life-time chance to see the wildlife so
closely. Jim Corbett National Park, Rajaji National Park and Nandadevi Wildlife Sanctuary are the three largest sanctuaries of Uttaranchal.
They can be explored on jeeps, elephant rides, trekking and bus ride.
Trekking : Trekking has been an old favorite of travelers all over the world. Crossing the vast trails of mountains, covered with dense forests, has
always lured travelers. Uttaranchal also offers innumerable trekking trails to its adventure sports lovers. Trekking amidst the Himalayas is
completely mind blowing. Uttaranchal Himalayas encompasses the major part of Indian Himalayas. Uttaranchal (Garhwal & Kumaon ), harbouring
many snow covered peaks above 6,500 meters, is an excellent destination for trekkers.
Golf : Golf has recently become a tourist attraction in Uttaranchal. The golf course around Upat in Ranikhet, is a 9 hole golf course. It is set
amidst the fruit orchards of Ranikhet and is a treat to the eyes.
